5 Types of Vegetarians

1.     Vegan:

The real vegetarian that will not even partake in dairy as technically dairy is an animal source. When it comes to preservation of lean body mass, vegan have absolutely no hope. It is malnourishment and is anti-growth. In many countries the legal system considered it child abuse if children are found to be put on vegan diet by parents this is because the vegan diet has been seen to stunt the growth of children.

2.     Lacto vegetarian:

This is the vegetarian that we Indians identify with. All animal source protein is out of bounds except diary. There are some hopes here as a high intake of cottage cheese and supplemental whey protein can definitely do well to repair and Build tissue.

·       Jain culture: In India, there are many cultures who believe themselves as pure vegan, they call themselves pure as they abide to their cultural restrictions regarding food. Jain culture falls among such group who call themselves pure vegan as they do not include egg, fish and meat of any animals, in addition to it they exclude all the vegetables that are grown underneath the ground such as onions, potato, sweet potato etc. The reason behind is unavailability of sunrays to such foods as they grow under the ground.

·       Vaishnav culture: Vaishnav culture strictly avoid intake of onions and garlic in their diet but include all vegetables. They do not exclude underground vegetables as Jain culture do. Both the cultures however include milk and other milk products in their diet. Thus managing good quality proteins are easier for such groups and malnourishment is rare in such category of vegans.

3.     Lacto-Ovo vegetarian:

Evan these types of vegetarians are not rare. They are the ones who are vegetarian because they do not subscribe to the premise that we need to kill animals for food so they exclude all animal meat but are fine with dairy and eggs. With two of the most bioavailable sources of protein first class protein as options in their diet, a very good amount of protein synthesis can be achieved. Athletic goals can be reached. A Lacto-ovo vegetarian can most definitely abide by tenets of Nutrition and achieve physical excellence, but then technically this person cannot be termed as a true vegetarian.

4.     Pesco-Vegetarian:

This subset, apart from dairy and eggs consider fish to be vegetarian as well something to do with the logic that fish don't registry pain like other animals and hence fishing cannot be compared to the Killing of other animal for food. So obviously for this group following very low carbs nutrition in plans will be doable.

5.     Polo-peso-ovo-vegetarian:

This subset of vegetarianism is found mostly in Scandinavian country and this call themselves vegetarian on the virtue of exclusion of red meat beef from their diets. So this kind of vegetarian eat dairy, eggs, fish and poultry although you may find ridicules they are legitimately allowed to call themselves vegetarian.
